Bas Bergmans

Bas Bergmans is the founder of Wildwood Ventures. With 19+ years of professional services and corporate business leadership experience, Mr Bergmans has worked extensively across the full M&A cycle and is particularly specialised in managing large post-merger integration, carve out, business turnarounds, redesign and Target Operating Model projects.

Throughout his career Mr Bergmans has managed at various corporate levels and feels at ease with taking on ultimate accountability for the results required in both CFO or CEO positions. Attentive to detail with a practical approach to organisation / management, he is able to ensure that pre-set objectives are achieved at a high standard and even when under pressure possesses a strong ability to perform effectively. Mr. Bergman also has a good understanding of change management, operational excellence and lean manufacturing and is a trained/non-certified black belt six sigma practitioner.

During his career, Mr Bergmans has worked across multiple industries in Europe, Asia and the United States, including, but not limited to, lighting, manufacturing and sourcing, airlines, airports, financial services, distribution, digital marketing, real estate, investment, telecom and financial services while maintaining a strong focus on strategy, corporate finance and transaction services.

Most recently, Bas was a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal in Amsterdam working within the Private Equity Improvement Group, before A&M, Mr Bergmans was Vice President of the Palo Alto based construction start-up Katerra after they successfully acquired Mr Bergmans’ business Shanghai Dangoo Electronics. Prior to that, Mr Bergmans built one of the fastest growing Sino-American LED technology companies in the industry. Today it is  the fifth largest LED exporter to the United States. Mr Bergmans was the CEO of Dangoo USA, the $100m California-based subsidiary of Shanghai Dangoo Electronics, building the business infrastructure and developing relationships with Osram, Philips, Walmart, Costco, Home Depot and Lowes. Previously, Mr. Bergman was Chief Commercial Officer to Dangoo Electronics based in Shanghai, China.

Before his career as an entrepreneur, Mr Bergmans was a director in the Post-Merger Integration and Business Carve Out (PMI) team of Deloitte in London and Shanghai after which he was given the responsibility of founding Deloitte’s PMI business in Amsterdam.

Mr Bergmans started his career as a management consultant with the Value Based Management team of Price Waterhouse Coopers in London where he became an expert in financial value modeling to resolve shareholders value questions and strategic implementation to realise modelled value targets.

Mr Bergmans is a Dutch national and obtained an MSC in Business Economics from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam in 2000. He has spent most of his career working and living overseas in the United Kingdom, China and the United States and now resides in the Netherlands.
